When I'm not bookkeeping...
I hiked the Appalachian Trail in 2013. That’s 2000 miles from Georgia to Maine in six months. My backpack was about 30 pounds with a week’s worth of food. Water came from streams, springs, and bogs. I showered about once a week whether I needed to or not.
I lived on an off-grid farm for six months in Florida. We hauled our own water, grew our own food, cooked on stoves and fires we built ourselves. We did eventually get electricity for the kitchen, and I was in charge of cooking for the fifteen people that lived there. I love goat’s milk!
I highly recommend people going and living in the woods for a few months because I love nature: the wilderness, the farm, the county park, the container of herbs on the windowsill. Also... reduce, reuse, recycle!
A good friend once described me as a ‘big ball of quirk.’ I'm not sure they meant it as one, but I took it as a compliment. I think it meant that I'm approachable, have a good sense of humor, and am a Jedi/ninja (see photo at left). I'll let you decide.
